Friday, May 31st — Thurgood Marshall (1908-1993)

Thurgood Marshall was a civil rights layer and activist his entire professional life. As head of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, he acted as legal counsel on some of the most important cases in U.S. history and helped construct a legal strategy that desegregated America in the mid-20th century. His later government service of Solicitor General, U.S. Court of Appeals Judge, and Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court shaped his brilliant career and defined the achievements of an Era.

Dr. James Armstead has a law degree from DePaul University, a Ph.D. in Public Policy from Pacific Western University and is a Professor of International Law and Public Policy. He will portray Associate Justice Marshall.
