The Coffee Cup Bunch Friends of the Library welcomes author Sammie Rude Compton at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024, at the Altus Public Library, 421 N. Hudson.

Mrs. Compton will review her book, The Cowboy Ike Rude: Riding Into the Wind. This book is a biography of her father, the first living inductee into the Cowboy Hall of Fame. Ike Rude was a native of Mangum. This book will make you feel like you are sitting around a campfire listening to Ike tell these stories in person! This event is free and open to the public.
