DESCRIPTION:The Coffee Cup Bunch Friends of the Library welcomes author\, Randy Beutler\, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday\, March 4\, 2026\, at the Altus Public Library\, 421 N. Hudson. \n\nHe will review his book\, “Impresarios of the Rodeo Arena: The Story of the Beutler Stock Contracting Legacy.” Randy is an avid historian and co-owner of the ranching partnership Beutler-Redd Ranches of Elk City. This history of the Beutler rodeo family was named as a finalist for a Spur Award from the Western Writers of America. Museum Director Jennie Buchanan will introduce the program by recounting the history of Southwest Oklahoma’s First Professional Rodeo\, an event that took place 80 years ago in Hightower Memorial Stadium! This event is free and open to the public. We hope you will join us!!
