DESCRIPTION:Holiday Closure Notice! \nThe Altus Public Library will be closed on Saturday\, July 4\, 2026\, in observance of Independence Day. We will resume regular hours on Monday\, July 6th at our normal business hours. \nOn July 4\, 1776\, the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence\, marking the birth of the United States and the beginning of our nation’s journey toward self-government. Since then\, Americans have celebrated the day with gatherings\, parades\, fireworks\, and traditions that honor the ideals of liberty and independence. \nAs we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with family and friends\, we also take time to reflect on the history of our nation and the generations of Americans who have helped shape its story. \nWe wish everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July and look forward to seeing you back at the library soon!
